Recalling What is Right About America
A nation is defined by its aspirations and accomplishments –
By Robert Charles – – Sunday, December 21, 2014
Everywhere, we suddenly hear words of division, difference, recrimination. Suddenly, America is Ferguson, Missouri writ large. But are we? Are we not still Americans, first? We harbor 316 million different dreams, each born of one spirit. Peace and love, freedom, respect and being “one people” are all hard stuff. What’s new? It has always been so. Isn’t that what America is really about? Isn’t that what makes us Americans, that belief in the possible?
Is trust hard to build and maintain? Sure, but it always has been. Still, we are the exceptional people who have shown it can be done, adversity notwithstanding. We have learned over two centuries that progress requires patience. Ask Booker T. Washington, Satchel Page, Frank Robinson, Thurgood Marshall, Louie Armstrong or Michael Jackson. But let’s get deeper than that. Ask Mae Jemisim, Stephanie Wilson, Joan Higginbotham or Yvonne Cagle. Now there are some real Americans, the sort we can all pause and admire.
You haven’t heard of them? Well, you should have. Mae was a Stanford graduate, majoring in chemical engineering, fluent in Russian, French and Swahili, and a doctor of medicine from Cornell University. What else? She served in the Peace Corps and was an avid aviator. Oh yes, something else. A black American, she was a Space Shuttle astronaut.
So was Stephanie — three missions on the Space Shuttle Endeavor. Joan? Another astronaut, on the Shuttle Discovery, an expert in electrical engineering with 308 hours in space. And Yvonne? Also an astronaut, a biochemist and a doctor of medicine at the Johnson Space Flight Center. They are all women and all black Americans. They are also incredible Americans.
What’s the point? It’s worth taking time to think about the hope, achievement, promise and exceptionalism they each represent. Because they are women and black by heritage? Yes, and because they are American. Did they overcome incredible obstacles? You bet. Did they face more obstacles than others? Almost certainly. But more to the point, they believed in the possible — for America and for themselves.
They are heroes who risked all for their country — no excuses, no half-measures. They wanted and found windows of opportunity, then flew through them. They must have had beacons in their lives — mentors, teachers and parents who cared, communities around them and people who reminded them on more than one occasion to keep believing in America and in themselves. And that is America. They realized their dreams, and made us all proud as they did.
What do their stories, and millions of others like them, tell us? One thing clearly: Look up and forward, not back and down. They looked at insecurity, defeatism and difference, and stepped beyond them all. Against impossible odds — since becoming an astronaut is a 15 in 2,000 proposition — they said bring it on. They saw the sun behind the clouds, locked on and showed can-do spirit.
Who are we at our best, if not them? While we have our differences, we remain one people with a common belief in the possible. We live in an exceptional place, founded on an exceptional document, built on courage, spirit and heart. So let us stop being defined by others, or letting others redefine us as smaller than we are. False leaders divide for their own purposes, some by geography and others by religion, skin color, attractions, distractions and disaffections. Some want us to divide from each other on the basis of where we are from or where our parents hailed from on this blue globe. But that is a misunderstanding of America.
We are defined by the desire to aspire, reinforced by the inspiration of others and by how we inspire them. That is the stuff of which Americans are really made. That is how we have all defied odds, reached toward the heavens in our own ways, leaped higher and bridged gaps thought unbridgeable. That is what we must do again.
Only by daring to trust, risk and believe can we live up to our legacy — that “anything really is possible.” The media tell us it is easier to be against than for, deconstruct than construct, blame than assume responsibility, grow frustrated than grow patient, attack than forgive, deflect than to lead. Yet we know that is not who we really are. We are forward movement, which only comes with believing.
As the call to divide echoes, just let it fade. Instead, let’s remember Mae, Stephanie, Joan and Yvonne, four great Americans. We cannot all become astronauts, but we can see beyond our differences and lift each other up. If not now, as we count our own blessings in the Christmas season and resolve to do better, then when? If we can lead from the heart, leaders will follow. That is how it works in America.

Passenger tossed after flipping out over staff’s ‘Merry Christmas’
By Michael Liss , Daniel Prendergast and Philip Messing
A passenger was tossed off a plane at La Guardia Airport on Tuesday after flipping out — because airline workers wished him a merry Christmas.
The man was waiting to board American Airlines Flight 1140 to Dallas when a cheerful gate agent began welcoming everyone with the Yuletide greeting while checking boarding passes. The grumpy passenger, who appeared to be traveling alone, barked at the woman, “You shouldn’t say that because not everyone celebrates Christmas.”
The agent replied, “Well, what should I say then?”
“Don’t say, ‘Merry Christmas!’ ” the man shouted before brushing past her. Once on the plane, he was warmly greeted by a flight attendant who also wished him a “merry Christmas.” That was the last straw. “Don’t say, ‘Merry Christmas!’ ” the man raged before lecturing the attendants and the pilot about their faux pas. The crew tried to calm the unidentified man, but he refused to back down and continued hectoring them. He was escorted off the plane as other fliers burst into cheers and applause.
American Airlines did not return a request for comment.

It’s not White Privilege, it’s American Privilege – Pulling the Mask off of Collectivist Fascism
Tom WiseDecember 27, 2014
I was sitting on my front porch, in a decent wooden rocker, eating sourdough pretzels from a bag, and drinking bottled water. Now, this may not sound like much to you, but just by enjoying these few things in a few moments of relative liberty, I am among the most fortunate people on the face of the Earth.
I don’t know the statistics offhand (and I’m too lazy at the moment to look them up… Google!), but much of the world is always on the brink of starvation. There’s no reason for me to feel guilty about this, even if I do feel sad. First, if I believe in God, which I do, I know that I was born into this place and time without any input from me, for some reason only God knows. Therefore, I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, and I only have gratitude that where I’m supposed to be is here and now. Second, what good is a resource or product if it’s not enjoyed? My father always used to say, “Money is for spending.” I didn’t know what he meant then, but I think I know now. Money spent gives forth many things, has a life of its own, and can purchase some temporary thing to make us happy, whether food or some other item of value. Naturally, I could write many paragraphs regarding what money is, what happiness is, and whether or not money buys happiness, but I will leave those philosophies off the table right now.
Contrarily, there are many people who believe just the opposite. They do not think that resources and products are to be enjoyed by those who can afford to have them. They do not believe money ought to be handled by the population-at-large. Well, if the population-at-large ought not handle money, how shall they have what they want and need? An here’s where we get to the ideology which to most of us is alien. Most often, that alien ideology says the government should be sole benefactor of the labor of the many, and that resources ought to be distributed “as needed” by such government. This, of course, is Marxism, and its many branches of Socialism, communism, and other collectivism.
Collectivists are completely taken with the notion that whoever has a “privilege” to enjoy something, which someone else cannot enjoy, is a traitor. No, seriously. They believe the world is already collectivist, and that capitalists and individualists run contrary to this supposed global government. In their minds, they believe the yearning of the proletariat is the real government. They believe people with more wealth and power are oppressors, and not only oppressors, but illegal in their every actions, that is, traitors to this illusory world government.
We, of course, know that our God has created a Torah, a set of laws, which protects private property from theft and larceny, from unequal weights and measures, from vandalism and intentional destruction without cause. We also know that our laws in America protect not only life and liberty, but also private property. So it is with great consternation and puzzlement that we hear the crazed anger and sloganeering of the collectivists who tell us that ownership of property is not a real thing, that “you didn’t build that,” that “businesses don’t create jobs,” and thatwhite people are oppressors who subjugate everyone else.
Never mind that the main portion of these sloganeers are white themselves, obviously living without any belief system in Torah or the laws of Magna Carta, Constitution, and “possession is 9/10 of the law.” Never mind that these white sloganeers are themselves, generally speaking, from middle- to upper-class families, who have probably never been hungry a day in their lives, except on so-called hunger strikes to get attention. Never mind that these white spoiled guilt-ridden liberals have technology, know how to use it, and probably have every other advantage as well. No, never mind those things. They are “good” because they denigrate what they have. Weare “bad” because we don’t denigrate what we have, but treasure it, or at least have fun without guilt.
The newest such rallying slogan is that white people enjoy “white privilege,” which as near as I can figure out means that white people can walk or drive down the street without being harassed by the cops. Of course, this is completely untrue on its face. Bad cops harass everyone. Good cops tend not to harass anyone. But, of course, we are supposed to define this for the sloganeers because that’s part of the punishment! “When you can tell me what you’ve done, young man, you can have your dessert!” Well, the problem here is, the sloganeers don’t actually control our desserts! But they want to, don’t they?
Part of being a collectivist sloganeer is desiring to control the natural resources and the weapons. Part of being a collectivist is desiring to be the very fascist you say you despise! However, if you are a collectivist, you have already assumed that the world is just waiting to be rescued into your fascism.
Another idea of “white privilege” is having access to all the “good stuff.” Apparently, white people have the best education system, the best economic system, and so forth. The reason this is supposedly bad is that white people are bad, and don’t deserve it! Let’s examine that, shall we?
White people are bad, but it’s generally white people who are criticizing this “white privilege.” So, aren’t the white people who criticize also bad? No, of course not! Aha! So it is not being white which is bad, it’s being capitalistand individualist which is bad! We, therefore, come to the first truth about the doctrine of “white privilege” and that is that it is not about a person being “white,” but about “privilege.” We know this because it is the collectivists who are sloganeering, throwing rocks, and inciting riots. Oh yes they are!
So, it’s not that white people are bad, because you can be a “good” white person if you are a collectivist. Accordingly, it is “privilege” which is bad. But… these sloganeers are completely privileged. Are they not bad also? No! They are doing the “good work” of sloganeering, so they are exempt. They are better white people!
Furthermore, the goal of these collectivists is to have such privilege, if you will, distributed among those not privileged. So now the underprivileged will be privileged. Doesn’t this mean these newly privileged are now “bad,” by virtue of their new privilege? No! They haven’t had privilege for the same amount of time as those who have had privilege. Get it? No? Me neither. So it is not privilege which is bad, and not white people who are bad, and not privileged white people who are bad, as long as such privileged things are shared only by the underprivileged and the sloganeers. Are we clear?
So let’s say this comes to pass, and privileged white people (who are not sloganeers) lose their power and wealth. Who gets this power and wealth? Why, the underprivileged and the sloganeers, of course! The first getsrevenge. The second gets due reward! And the formerly-privileged white people? Are they not underprivileged now? No! That is a bad thought! They are not underprivileged, but rather “in their right place.” Get it?
You can readily see how absurd these positions of “white privilege” are. For the problem, even according to the sloganeers, is not really with white people (they are white), or privilege (it will merely be redistributed), or even white privilege (the sloganeers deserve theirs).
In reality, these sloganeers are against American privilege. They say the black man doesn’t get a fair shake in America. Really? Out of all the minorities, and there are many, the black man doesn’t get a fair shake? Considering that the black man is in the White House presently, and that Al Sharpton seems to run our social causes now, and that Oprah Winfrey is among the richest in the world, and let’s not forget all the entertainers, sports figures, and businessmen… I’m not buying it. In fact, there’s no reason for me to buy it. In my lifetime, I’ve seen the black man achieve greatly. If the black man hasn’t achieved all he desires, let him work for it, like everyone else. That is American privilege.
Whether or not anyone believes this, in America, the only thing holding you back is you. Black men have achieved in this country. So have Chinese, and Jews, and Irish, and Italians, and a host of others who were first picked on and placed in a ghetto. I’m oversimplifying for the sake of space, and leaving out scads of history and reforms, but the truth is, America is amazing. Tolerant and forgiving to a fault, and still able to be prosperous and safe. Again, I oversimplify, omitting much doctrine and policy, but America is a privileged place to live.
That’s why people want to live here, and risk their lives getting here. Safe haven, and money.
So, if “white privilege” in America means that white people are not frisked as much as black people, it is surely, in this day and age, not due to race, but due to 1) an increasing police state, and 2) and increasing savagery among the citizenry. If white people are less likely to be savage, due to their circumstances or temperament, the sloganeers ought not say that white people would certainly be more savage if they were deprived. Neither should the sloganeers say that black people, if given more privilege, would change their own temperaments. At best, this is wishful thinking, that people change their temperaments because they have money or power. No, people stay who they are. At worst, it is collectivist sloganeering, inciting among the black people an envy of things they lack. It is instigation of social-economic civil war, a radical communist platform.
In fact, if you read Bill Ayers’ Prairie Fire (ca 1971), you will see that he calls himself a communist, and says that one of the key elements of domestic social action of such radical communists is to incite the black man to revolution. This is one reason why I say Bill Ayers is still one of the most dangerous men in America.
These communists are against American Privilege. They don’t like Americans eating until bursting, because it reminds them that their own ideology causes people to literally starve to death by the millions (Mao, Lenin, Stalin). They don’t like Americans carrying guns because it reminds them that their own ideology causes purges and mass executions. It also reminds them that Americans have power, another privilege the communist does not have.
Don’t be fooled. These sloganeers are the same communists from 1856 and 1956, from Prussia to Congo. They provoke the elite with their rash statements, then hide behind the skirt of proletariat anger. In the current American version, they hide behind the black man’s plight, his urban gang problem, which kills thousand every year in inner cities. But these killings are not the result of white privilege, they are the result of drug wars, thug wars, and respect wars. It’s not from lack of opportunity, but rather wealth of opportunity in drugs, guns, and machismo. And nobody forces these young men to sell drugs, wave pistols, and attack random passers-by. That’s on them.
But it’s not only black neighborhoods which are rife with drugs and guns. White people get involved in every form of drug dealing. Latin Americans have their cartels. Orientals have their mafias.
And it’s not just about drugs and guns. It’s about ruling the world. Arabs have their Caliphate-seekers. The New World Order is continually pulling strings around the world. Africans war for supremacy daily. The Chinese increase their game of Risk for minerals. The Russians are always about conquest.
The sloganeers can represent any of these, but the end-game is the same, domination and hegemony. The “white privilege” gambit is a collectivist strategy, because it incites proletariat anger, and black pride. They use “white privilege” as a metaphor for their mortal enemies, Capitalism and Individualism. Don’t be fooled. This is not about awareness or compassion. This is war.

Open Christmas Letter to John Boehner
John Boehner should find coal in his stocking.
Here is the headline from the National Journal: “House Narrowly Approves Massive Spending Bill.”
The House narrowly approved a massive spending bill Thursday night just before the government was set to run out of cash, as an unusual coalition of Republicans and Democrats teamed up to pass a measure that drew fierce criticism from both liberals and conservatives. The $1 trillion spending measure passed 219-206, with 161 Republicans and 58 Democrats in favor. It now heads to the Senate for passage, though because the government is technically set to shut down at midnight, the House was also prepared to pass a short-term resolution to give the other chamber a few days to act.
With President Obama joining all Republican leaders and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer in support of the package, backers were able to overcome a concerted effort led by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other key liberals—including Sen. Elizabeth Warren—who complained that the measure was larded up with provisions to help Wall Street, among other special interests. Many on the right also balked at the bill, preferring to punt long-term spending decisions until next year when Republicans control the Senate.
Boehner was more dramatic later Thursday morning, telling reporters: “If we don’t get finished today, we’re going to be here until Christmas. You all know how this process works.”
I perceive the strain you are under, trying to sell out the American people for the sake of special interests. Such a sadness that you think you might be there till Christmas, if you can’t finish your further destruction of economic sanity today.
Because I care, I tell you what: Why don’t you just go home… today… and never come back? That will resolve your concerns about not being home for Christmas—you can stay home from here on. I sincerely believe this is a far, far better option than putting a monumental lump of coal in the American People’s stockings with this Cromnibus crap.
If you succeed in your efforts to ruin my birthday today, please know many of us will be working very, very hard to start a second political party in America, since it’s clear you and the Democrats are on the same page when it comes to betraying the People.
Merry Christmas, John. Don’t let the door hit your yellow stripe on the way out.”

At the end of the rally, gun owners burned their concealed weapons permits and signed a petition vowing to refuse to follow the new gun control law. The petition ended with the text, “We pledge our blood. We will not comply.”
This certainly isn’t the first large scale act of civil disobedience by gun owners in defiance of gun laws.Earlier this year in Connecticut hundreds of thousands of gun owners refused to send in their gun registration forms, also becoming felons. Similar numbers of gun owners in New York have also refused to send in their registration paperwork and some even video taped themselves burning the forms.
Fed up with the passage of an 18½-page incoherent, rambling, unconstitutional gun control initiative that was bankrolled by billionaires, gun owners across Washington state held the largest felony civil disobedience rally in the nation’s history, brazenly titled “I Will Not Comply.” No one was hurt and no stores were looted. Between 1,000 and 3,000 lawful gun owners showed up openly armed at the state capitol in Olympia, Wash., on Saturday to defy the newly passed gun control law, I-594.
Organizer Gavin Seim made the extraordinary nature of the rally very clear, “This isn’t just a protest. We are here to openly violate the law.” Attendees publicly transferred their guns to each other in violation of I-591’s background check provisions, and some even bought and sold guns just a few feet away from law enforcement. A fire pit blazed throughout the rally, and at the conclusion, gun owners lined up to burn their concealed weapons permits. A petition was circulated affirming gun owners’ refusal to follow I-594, which ended with, “We pledge our blood. We will not comply.”
As the RSVPs in advance of the rally grew to over 6,000, the police – most who probably detest I-594 – decided not to enforce the law. The Washington State Patrol announced there would be no arrests for exchanging guns – not even for selling guns. Seim refused to obtain a permit to hold the rally, citing the right of people to peaceably assemble.
The rally could not be dismissed as fringe elements. Several lawmakers and lawmen spoke, including former Graham County Sheriff Richard Mack of Arizona, Washington State Rep. Elizabeth Scott (R-Monroe) and Rep. Graham Hunt (R-Orting), who sported an AR-15 during his speech. Mack advised gun owners engaging in civil disobedience to “put your sheriff next to you to keep it peaceful.” Scott defiantly explained in her speech, “I will not comply with I-594 because it is unconstitutional, unenforceable and unjust. It is impossible to enforce this law unless there is a police officer on every back porch and in every living room. So it will be enforced selectively.” She noted that Founding Father Alexander Hamilton said any law that violates the Constitution is not valid, and there is a moral obligation to disobey unjust laws.
Seim, a political activist and congressional candidate, wrote on his website, “Today I become an OUTLAW! Arrest me! I will NOT comply.” He led the rally peacefully, and at one point asked everyone attending to kneel with him in prayer. As he led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance, he stressed, “I am not pledging obedience to the government, it is to the Republic. We don’t ask for our rights, and we don’t negotiate for our rights. We will take America back.”
Another speaker explained what was happening this way, “We no longer consent nor comply.” Mike Vanderboegh, whose Three Percenter movement is modeled after the three percent of the colonists who fought in the American War of Independence, said that those at the rally are the resistance behind enemy lines. The resistance is also taking place in a handful of other states with strict gun control laws, where patriots are now smuggling in weapons illegally. Vanderboegh told attendees, “This is the tyranny the Founding Fathers warned us about. Tyranny can be voted into existence by a majority. We will not fire the first shot, but if need be, we will fire the last.”
Gun control zealots have finally gone too far. Gun owners are now discovering that the police in New York are using gun control laws to confiscate guns from family members within days after their owners pass away. Hundreds of thousands of gun owners in Connecticut and New York who failed to register their AR-15s earlier this year are now felons. Requiring the registration of guns or requiring background checks, as I-594 does, allows the government to compile a list of gun owners, which can be used later for confiscation.
If guns cause crime, then why wasn’t there a single mishap, considering there were 1,000 or so guns present and hundreds of violations of felony law taking place? Tellingly, Washington State Trooper Guy Gill beforehand, “”Most of these folks are responsible gun owners. We probably will not have an issue.” The truth is, the state capitol was probably the safest place in the state last Saturday.
Patriots have had enough. The Second Amendment is gradually being eroded, state by state, and gun owners are not going to lie down and give up their arms. A handful of billionaires and elitists in blue cities like Seattle do not respect the Constitution nor represent the vast majority of Americans. Another rally in Olympia is planned for January 15, and another one in Spokane on December 20. The Second Amendment Foundation, headquartered in Bellevue, intends to sue the state over I-594, and will be lobbying the legislature to get the law changed or repealed. Washington state is now ground zero for patriotic gun owners resisting tyranny, which is at a tipping point since law enforcement does not intend to enforce I-594. What happens next?
Kroger Sees Profits Soar After Ignoring Anti-Gun Boycott Threat
Our friend AWR Hawkins at Breitbart made me smile with his headline, Kroger Profits Up 21 Percent After Refusing To Ban Guns.
In mid-August Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America launched a campaign pressuring Kroger to bar law-abiding citizens from openly carrying guns for self-defense in their stores. Kroger refused to change its policy and in the third quarter–“ending Nov. 8″–Kroger saw a “21 percent increase in profit…compared with the same period last year.” According to Supermarket News, Kroger’s “net earnings for the quarter were $362 million.” Breitbart News previously reported that Moms Demand launched their campaign on August 18. On that day Kroger subsidiary grocer Fred Meyer said it would not change its polices and less than two weeks later, Kroger said it would not be changing policies either. Both said they would continue to honor state and municipal laws at their store locations.
Moms Demand Action is primarily a social media and advertising campaign that uses a $50 million investment from Michael Bloomberg to feign the appearance of a large “grassroots” gun control organization. While Moms Demand has done well online and in favorable local media stories, they have consistently failed to “put boots on the ground” in terms of having actual engaged protesters contributing time and money to their events. When they attempted to “confront” the National Rifle Association in Indianapolis earlier this year, just 156 people showed up, including the media and the armed security guards and armored SUV driver of Moms Demand founder Shannon Watts. In contrast, the NRA annual meeting boasted a turnout of more than 70,000.
A recent protest of the Kroger’s shareholder meeting yielded just dozens of protesters. Most lower-level Moms Demand protests draw less than a dozen activists, and these don’t appear to have much local interest, as the same handful of supporters tromps from city to city, forcing people to logically wonder if this “grassroots campaign” is nothing more or less than a small number of paid staffers in each state. Curiously, while Moms Demand threatens boycotts in an attempt to punish businesses for allowing citizens to exercise their basic human right to self-defense, the more than 57,000 businesses that have declared themselves to be supportive of gun owners are seeing their profits soar. It only makes sense.
Gun ownership is both more popular now than it has ever been, growing across demographic boundaries. More people own firearms now than at any previous moment in our Republic’s history. Despite spastic contractions in a few deeply anti-liberty states, gun rights overall are expanding nationwide as a result of both favorable court rulings and legislative action by a growing Second Amendment movement.
It seems obvious that siding on the side of rights and liberty is the right moral stance to take, but as Kroger is proving, it’s the right business decision to make as well.

Democrat Corruptocrats Look Out for One Another
When Attorney Generals refuse to prosecute crimes by fellow members of their party, they reveal themselves to be standard Democrat Corruptocrats.
Looks like the Pennsylvania Attorney General, Kathleen Kane, is an “A” student in the Eric Holder School of Protecting Corruption through Partisan Law.
Thus we read in the Daily Signal: “Two Pa. Legislators Indicted for Voter ID Bribes in a Case the State AG Refused to Prosecute.”
A grand jury convened by Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams has indicted two Democratic state legislators for accepting bribes in exchange for voting against a voter ID bill, among other legislative actions.
The grand jury findings also represent a withering rejection of the unjustifiable behavior of Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane, who shut down the three-year investigation that caught state Democratic legislators on video and audio tapes taking bribes. Williams stepped in and successfully prosecuted the case.
As the grand jury reported, it had 26 recordings featuring Rep. Ronald G. Waters, who accepted nine cash payments from a confidential informant totaling $8,750. The grand jury had 24 recordings of Rep. Vanessa Lowery Brown accepting five cash payments totaling $4,000. Waters agreed to vote against Pennsylvania House Bill 934, a voter ID bill, in exchange for $2,000. Brown also agreed to vote against House Bill 934 for the same amount.
Brown was so eager to vote the way she had been paid by the informant that she offered to “get up and speak” on the floor of the Pennsylvania House in opposition to the bill. Both “representatives testified before this Grand Jury and admitted their criminal conduct.”
When those who are preeminently tasked with upholding the law are rotten to the core we’ve got a major problem… And right now that means we have a major problem.
Justice is supposed to be blind—meaning, the only thing that matters is what a person does, not what he looks like, or what position he holds in life. Looks like Holder and Kane specialize in putting the blindfold over their own eyes. And that blindfold is emblazoned with one word: “Democrat.”

Obama Justice Department Was Involved In IRS Targeting, Lerner Emails Reveal
Robert W. Wood12/10/2014 @ 7:57PM
Sadly, the 18 month investigation into the IRS targeting of conservative groups isn’t over, and it may be worse than anyone thought. A federal judge has broken loose more emails that the DOJ had surely hoped would never surface. The picture it reveals isn’t pretty. The documents prove that Lois Lerner met with DOJ’s Election Crimes Division a month before the 2010 elections.
It has to be embarrassing to the DOJ, which may not be the most impartial one to be investigating the IRS. In fact, the DOJ withheld over 800 pages of Lerner documents citing “taxpayer privacy” and “deliberative privilege.” Yet these internal DOJ documents show Ms. Lerner was talking to DOJ officials about prosecuting tax-exempt entities (yes, criminally!) two years before the IRS conceded there was inappropriate targeting.
Ms. Lerner met with top officials from the DOJ’s Election Crimes Branch in October of 2010. Although Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the DOJ (Judicial Watch v. Department of Justice, No. 14-cv-01239), the DOJ coughed up dirt only on court order. Even then, the DOJ handed over only two pages of heavily redacted emails.
What’s more, the DOJ withheld 832 pages in their entirety. They revealed that Mr. Obama’s DOJ called an October 8, 2010 meeting with the IRS “concerning 501(c)(4) issues.” On September 30, 2010, the DOJ’s Election Crimes prosecutor emailed Ms. Lerner:
“Hi Lois-It’s been a long time, and you might not remember me, I’ve taken on [REDACTED] duties. I’m looking forward to meeting you, Can we chat in advance? I’m a [REDACTED]”
Ms. Lerner responded on October 2, 2010:
“Sure-that’s a good Idea [sic]. I have a meeting out of the office Monday morning, but will try you when I get back sometime early afternoon. You can try me at 202 283-8848.”
Documents from a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the IRS show that Ms. Lerner asked the DOJ whether tax-exempt entities could be criminally prosecuted. This May 8, 2013 email by Ms. Lerner went to Nikole C. Flax, Chief of Staff to Acting IRS Commissioner Steven T. Miller, who would later be fired by President Obama:
“I got a call today from Richard Pilger Director Elections Crimes Branch at DOJ … He wanted to know who at IRS the DOJ folk s [sic] could talk to about Sen. Whitehouse idea at the hearing that DOJ could piece together false statement cases about applicants who “lied” on their 1024s–saying they weren’t planning on doing political activity, and then turning around and making large visible political expenditures. DOJ is feeling like it needs to respond, but want to talk to the right folks at IRS to see whether there are impediments from our side and what, if any damage this might do to IRS programs. I told him that sounded like we might need several folks from IRS…”
DOJ’s Mr. Pilger admitted that DOJ officials met Ms. Lerner in October 2010. Moreover, according to congressional investigators, a Lerner email from October 5, 2010 shows the IRS sent the FBI and DOJ a “1.1 million page database of information from 501(c)(4) tax exempt organizations” that contained confidential taxpayer information.
In her May 2013 answer to a planted question about the alleged targeting of Tea Party and conservative groups, Ms. Lerner suggested that the alleged targeting occurred due to an “uptick” in 501 (c)(4) applications to the IRS. In reality, there was a decrease, and as for targeting (what targeting?), well, you know the rest.
Remember those rogue IRS employees in Cincinnati? They were confused. And while all Americans should be concerned, Judicial Watch sounds fit to be tied.
“No wonder the Department of Justice under Eric Holder has done no serious investigation of the Obama IRS scandal,” saidJudicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These new documents dramatically show how the Justice Department is up to its neck in the IRS scandal and can’t be trusted to investigate crimes associated with the IRS abuses that targeted Obama’s critics,” he said. “Richard Nixon was impeached for less.”
Perhaps the latter is an overstatement. Yet it is getting harder and harder to simply accept President Obama’s ‘no smidgen of corruption’ remark made to Fox News in February, no matter how sincere and forthright his delivery.

WHOA! Liberals Running the Classroom, Teaching Flag Stomping and Islamic Laws
The Political Insider
Fox News’ Megyn Kelly just released this shocking new documentary about how serious liberal indoctrination is inside America’s public schools. If it wasn’t clear how far the left has gone in taking over educating our children and how much Islamic culture is taught in the classroom, this will change that.
Watch (above) as Kelly gives examples of a high school teacher stomping on the American flag and another school which said a pledge to the country of Mexico! In one 6th grade class, President George Bush was compared to Adolph Hitler. And in another, the teacher’s lesson of Islam went so far that female students were asked to wear burkas.
TRACE GALLAGHER, FOX NEWS CORRESPONDENT: During a lesson about symbols and their meaning, a South Carolina high school English teacher decided to stomp on the American flag saying the physical flag was symbolic but was only a piece of cloth, and his actions would have no ramifications. He was wrong. Parents protested, the teacher was placed on leave and eventually agreed to resign for an $85,000 payout.
At Lumberton High School, Texas, as part of a world geography lesson on Islam, some female students dressed up and were photographed wearing burkas. Their parents were bothered by the pictures but more concerned about the emphasis on Islam.
APRIL LEBLANC, PARENT: They had touched on, you know, they started with Israel and start talking about Palestine but they went straight onto the nation of Islam and they focused on it and (INAUDIBLE) really focused on Islam, never touched on Christianity.
This is outrageous! Students should be learning math, English, science, and the skills needed to succeed in life. Please share this, if you oppose liberal indoctrination in schools!
Tea Party Congressional Warning Goes Viral!
Tea Party Command Center
Dear Fellow Tea Party Loyalist,
I’m about to reveal something shocking to you.
I really thought long and hard but I have to share it with you. I promised you that I would always be forthright and honest no matter how grim or frightening. I’m having trouble believing it myself. My thoughts are filled with the unthinkable acts Obama is planning to commit against our beloved nation now that he has nothing to lose and cannot be reelected.
The abuse of power and the blatant disregard for the office of the president of the United States has shocked Patriots everywhere, embarrassed America and fractured the freedom that we have all come to love and embrace.
Obama’s actions are utterly disgraceful—from his actions to legalize illegals to his willingness to import deadly disease without character and passion for the women, children and families of America. Every day I hear more stories of how Congressmen are worrying about the shockwaves that could smother America and turn our great land into a Third World nation overnight.
Obama will wreak havoc from the stock market to the supermarket simply because he wants his own way his way. His New World Order spells death to liberty and a complete conversion into a socialist fascist state.
And that is why the TEA PARTY IS FIGHTING BACK!
We’ve created a message so powerful it’ll rock the Obama socialists—stop them dead in their tracks. We’re going to send a powerful CONGRESSIONAL WARNING that’ll make their blood boil and their stomach churn. Are you with me?
Please say yes. This is WAR. Our strategy could stop Obama cold but once it’s deployed there is no telling how he will take revenge on the American people.
I’m sharing this plan with you because I want you to be part of it but first…
I need you to know something.
You know all those rallies, protests, demonstrations, marches, letters, faxes, phone calls and clandestine operations we have in place? If you do nothing to help us you can kiss them goodbye. Obama will just take America out completely—he’ll have NO opposition.
We voted in some strong Tea Party conservative congressman this last election and they are in place, ready to protect America. If you really want Obama stopped, stripped of the presidency, then support us and help with our Tea Party Strategy.
I need to know today if you are with me. I can’t do it alone!

Vermont’s Giving Up On Single-Payer Health Care Over Ballooning Costs
Vermont’s Giving Up On Single-Payer Health Care Over Ballooning Costs
Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin is canceling his dream plan to create a single-payer health system in the state, he announced Wednesday.
“I am not going to undermine the hope of achieving critically important health care reforms for this state by pushing prematurely for single payer when it is not the right time for Vermont,” Shumlin said in a statement Wednesday. “In my judgment, now is not the right time to ask our legislature to take the step of passing a financing plan for Green Mountain Care.”
The problem is, of course, how to pay for it. Even while plans were moving forward for a 2017 launch of the single-payer system, to be called Green Mountain Care, Shumlin had held off on releasing a plan for how to pay for the system, waiting until his announcement Wednesday.
Tax hikes required to pay for the system would include a 11.5 percent payroll tax as well as an additional income tax ranging all the way up to 9.5 percent. Shumlin admitted that in the current climate, such a precipitous hike would be disastrous for Vermont’s economy.
“Pushing for single payer health care when the time isn’t right and it might hurt our economy would not be good for Vermont and it would not be good for true health care reform,” Shumlin said. “It could set back for years all of our hard work toward the important goal of universal, publicly-financed health care for all.”
Shumlin’s office released a slideshow with more details about financing for the plan which fell through. The state had been anticipating $267 million in federal funding to revamp its system, courtesy of a 2013 Obamacare waiver — but the current estimate has fallen to $106 million. Vermont also overestimated by $150 million in federal Medicaid funding.
But beyond federal funding, the report also admits that the single-payer system won’t save money as Vermont officials had planned. While both previous reports on Green Mountain Care had assumed “hundreds of millions of dollars” in savings in the very first year of operation, Shumlin’s office is now admitting that’s “not practical to achieve.”
“State government and providers need to partner to bend cost curve over time,” the report concluded. And the state admitted that while it would need to “ease the transition” for Vermont’s businesses, it would be “extremely expensive” to do so.
Shumlin also cited slow economic recovery in Vermont as reason to delay, and hopes to try again in the future. But its failure, especially on economic grounds, is a resounding defeat for single-payer advocates.
Many opponents of Obamacare continue to maintain that national health reform didn’t go far enough. Retiring Sen. Tom Harkin, who helped author Obamacare, recently expressed his regret that the health care law passed at all because it didn’t create single-payer.
Shumlin’s admission that the shift to single-payer won’t alleviate rising health care costs — and that it’ll add a bundle of tax hikes — buttresses single-payer’s political opposition.
Vermont Lt. Gov. Phil Scott, a Republican, applauded the decision to back off the plans.
“As I’ve said continually over the last two years, if the Governor’s single-payer plan places another burden on already overtaxed Vermonters, we simply cannot afford it,” Scott said in a statement Wednesday. “Our State cannot afford a $2.6 billion bill, and Vermont cannot afford to continue down this path of uncertainty. We’ve already spent far too much money exploring this idea, and the discussion has paralyzed our business community.”
Rasmussen Reports Repost
Voters Say Taliban Not True to Islam
Sunday, December 21, 2014
Americans strongly believe the Taliban, the Islamic fundamentalist group in Afghanistan who last week took credit for the murder of 130 school children, does not truly represent its faith. Just 16% of Likely U.S. Voters think the Taliban represents true Islamic beliefs, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Sixty-nine percent (69%) say the group which ruled its country for six years as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan does not represent the true beliefs of Islam. Another 16% are undecided.
Most voters feel the same way but not as strongly about the radical group the United States is now fighting that calls itself the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Fifty-three percent (53%) agree with President Obama that ISIS does not represent true Islamic beliefs. Twenty-seven percent (27%) disagree, while 20% are undecided. The closer one is following news reports about last week’s school massacre in Pakistan, the more likely he or she is to believe the Taliban does represent the true beliefs of Islam, but even most voters who have been following the news Very Closely say the radical group is not true to its faith.
Voters in this country are hesitant for the United States to join in the search for the school killers, but the incident has dramatically reduced support for U.S. negotiations with the Taliban to end the war in Afghanistan. The national survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on December 17-18, 2014 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
Religious tolerance, however, is a one-way street when it comes to the Muslim world, most U.S. voters say. Sixty-six percent (66%) believe most Christians living in the Islamic world are treated unfairly because of their religious faith. By comparison, just 20% think most Muslims are treated unfairly in the United States because of their religion. Most voters across all demographic categories agree that the Taliban does not represent the true beliefs of Islam, but some are more skeptical than others.
Voters under 40 are more likely than their elders to believe the radical group does not truly represent its faith. Twenty-six percent (26%) of Republicans think the Taliban does truly represent Islam, compared to just nine percent (9%) of Democrats and 12% of voters not affiliated with either major party. Evangelical Christians are far more likely than other Protestants, Catholics and those of other faiths to believe the Taliban does represent the true beliefs of Islam.
In June, 54% of all voters disagreed with the president’s decision to release five Taliban leaders from the Guantanamo terrorist prison camp in exchange for the only known U.S. military prisoner of war being held by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Voters aren’t enthusiastic about the president’s plan to expand the U.S. military’s fighting mission in Afghanistan, but they’re slightly more confident an American win is possible in the nation’s longest-running war.
Voter perceptions of U.S.-Islamic relations continue to deteriorate since Obama’s highly publicized speech in Cairo, Egypt five years ago reaching out to the Islamic world. Many blame recent U.S. policies for that.
Forty-one percent (41%) still believe most Muslims around the world view the United States as an enemy. Voters are evenly divided over whether most Americans view Muslims worldwide as an enemy.
The number of voters who think the United States is winning the War on Terror continues to fall to new lows, and more than ever they see a terrorist attack as the biggest threat to the nation. When Saul of Tarsus set out on his journey to Damascus the whole of the known world lay in bondage. There was one state, and it was Rome.
When Saul of Tarsus set out on his journey to Damascus the whole of the known world lay in bondage. There was one state, and it was Rome. There was one master for it all, and he was Tiberius Caesar.
Everywhere there was civil order, for the arm of the Roman law was long. Everywhere there was stability, in government and in society, for the centurions saw that it was so.
But everywhere there was something else, too. There was oppression—for those who were not the friends of Tiberius Caesar. There was the tax gatherer to take the grain from the fields and the flax from the spindle to feed the legions or to fill the hungry treasury from which divine Caesar gave largess to the people. There was the impressor to find recruits for the circuses. There were executioners to quiet those whom the Emperor proscribed. What was a man for but to serve Caesar?
There was the persecution of men who dared think differently, who heard strange voices or read strange manuscripts. There was enslavement of men whose tribes came not from Rome, disdain for those who did not have the familiar visage. And most of all, there was everywhere a contempt for human life. What, to the strong, was one man more or less in a crowded world?
Then, of a sudden, there was a light in the world, and a man from Galilee saying, Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s and unto God the things that are God’s. And the voice from Galilee, which would defy Caesar, offered a new Kingdom in which each man could walk upright and bow to none but his God. Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. And he sent this gospel of the Kingdom of Man into the uttermost ends of the earth.
So the light came into the world and the men who lived in darkness were afraid, and they tried to lower a curtain so that man would still believe salvation lay with the leaders. But it came to pass for a while in divers places that the truth did set man free, although the men of darkness were offended and they tried to put out the light. The voice said, Haste ye. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness come upon you, for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
Along the road to Damascus the light shone brightly. But afterward Paul of Tarsus, too, was sore afraid. He feared that other Caesars, other prophets, might one day persuade men that man was nothing save a servant unto them, that men might yield up their birthright from God for pottage and walk no more in freedom.
Then might it come to pass that darkness would settle again over the lands and there would be a burning of books and men would think only of what they should eat and what they should wear, and would give heed only to new Caesars and to false prophets. Then might it come to pass that men would not look upward to see even a winter’s star in the East, and once more, there would be no light at all in the darkness.
And so Paul, the apostle of the Son of Man, spoke to his brethren, the Galatians, the words he would have us remember afterward in each of the years of his Lord:
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
