Is Your City a Sanctuary City? This Map Has the Answer.
Is your city a sanctuary city?
The Center for Immigration Studies has released an interactive map depicting cities, counties and states that are “sanctuaries” for immigrants who are in the country illegally.
The map shows over 200 sanctuary cities, counties and states nationwide.

Sanctuary cities are cities or jurisdictions where local authorities have chosen not to act in accordance with federal
According to the Center for Immigration Studies, “these state and local jurisdictions have policies, laws, executive
orders, or regulations allowing them to avoid cooperating with federal immigration law enforcement authorities”:
[The cities] ignore federal law authorizing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to
administratively deport illegal aliens without seeking criminal warrants or convictions from federal,
state, or local courts. Although federal law requires the cooperation, the Department of Justice has
never sued or taken any measure, including denying federal funds, against a jurisdiction.
According to the map, North Dakota and Rhode Island are sanctuary states.
David Inserra, a research assistant at The Heritage Foundation, said that it is a “no brainer” for local and state
officials to aid federal agencies in enforcing federal laws.
“Not enforcing the law results in lawlessness,” Inserra said.

Border Patrol Agents Speaking Out Against New Orders
by Michelle Moons 7 Feb 2015 San Diego, CA 6
Border patrol agents with National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) Local 1613 are publicly voicing concern over new policies the representatives say pose a threat to national security.
Among the issues the NBPC Local 1613 representatives cited in speaking with Breitbart California after a Tuesday meeting with Congressman Duncan Hunter were Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA), an exceedingly high bar for prosecution of criminal aliens, agent pay reductions, decreased training time, and the need for improved equipment.
NBPC Local 1613 representatives, all Border Patrol agents themselves, met Tuesday morning and again Wednesday with Congressman Hunter via phone and with representatives of his staff in the Congressman’s El Cajon, California office.
Discussing the meeting with Breitbart California, Christopher Harris and Gabe Pacheco emphasized one question in particular for the U.S. government, “Do they want us to be security guards or law enforcement?” According to the NBPC Local 1613 representatives, when an agent questions someone under suspicion of illegal presence in the U.S., they must now ask additional questions that clarify an illegal alien’s eligibility for DACA or DAPA, thus determining an illegal alien’s ability to remain in the country rather than be deported. Prior to DACA and DAPA, the same aliens being allowed to stay may have been slated for removal.
Chris Baldwin recounted one case in which agents caught a narcotics smuggler. The first hurdle with prosecuting the smuggler came when the case failed to meet the high level of U.S. California Attorney’s Office prosecution guidelines.
The smuggler was set up with a notice to appear to be deported for aggravated felony of alien smuggling. The smuggler then expressed a willingness to operate as an informant on other, larger smuggling operators. Agents moved forward with using him as an informant.
Agents were later instructed by upper level management to drop all charges and let the smuggler off the hook. Baldwin commented, “They’ve taken the crime of alien smuggling and made it almost impossible to prosecute. Not only was the smuggler released back into the U.S., but was released in an area where he could return to smuggling without being monitored.” This was given as an example of prosecutorial discretion, not prosecuting criminal aliens under a certain predetermined criminal threshold that allowed a criminal alien to continue to operate within the U.S. without consequence.
Everlyn Prado told the story of how his family worked hard to come to the United States, legally. They “waited a long time, 10 years, some are still waiting to come. My dad came here and started a taxicab business and came legitimately. My sisters are still waiting to come from Ecuador.” Prado expressed his frustration with the current situation: “We’re helping illegal aliens stay in the country. That’s a violation of United States law.” Harris, whose wife is also a legal immigrant to the United States, added, “You’re compromising national security when you don’t let border patrol agents do their job.”
Each agent expressed frustration, saying that agents just want to do the jobs they were hired for, but that changes in government directives concerning enforcement and degrading pay rates have played a part in what they say are some of the lowest morale rates of any federal government agency. Harris says that measure of morale is documented in the government’s own surveys.
In a 2014 survey of morale amongst 19 large government agencies, the Department of Homeland Security, umbrella agency over U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which is the umbrella over Border Patrol, ranked dead last in all but one category, and all but one of the rankings were down from 2013 by varying degrees.
The agents told Breitbart they were very thankful for the amount of time Congressman Hunter spent discussing the agents’ concerns. They also plan to follow up with other members of Congress. They’re hoping Congressional members will be discontent enough with the potentially lengthy delay in implementation of the recently passed Border Patrol Pay Reform Act, S. 1691, that members of Congress will take action and speed up implementation of the revised Border Patrol pay structure.

Norway Has Finally Had Enough Of Radical Muslims, So They Deported Them All. What Happened Next..WOW
By clyde21 January, 2015
When Norway decided to instate this drastic policy, they knew they would see positive outcomes and benefits for their country, but they never expected this amazing and surprising result.
You need to hear what happened in Norway when the country decided to start deporting radical Muslims. This is unbelievable.
Norway recently instated a program that seeks to deport radical Muslims in an attempt to lower crime rates throughout the country. Despite the fact that liberals are labeling this program as racist, the program has seen amazing success.
According to crime data and records, violent crime in the country is down by approximately 30 percent since this program has gone into affect. However, liberals are still demanding the program be shut down because they believe it is racist and that it unfairly targets a religious group.
Norwegian authorities have reported that a record-breaking number of 824 people were deported during the month of October. This record surpassed the record that was set by the previous month when 763 people were deported in September. The ultimate goal was to deport 7,100 people of Norway’s population of over five million people during the year 2014.
Approximately 2.3 percent of Norway’s population is Muslim; however, it’s easier for Norwegian authorities to deport people from Afghanistan and Nigeria because of “portfolio priorities.” Unfortunately, a large majority of those deported returned to Norway illegally or committed crimes.
The situation in Norway sounds eerily similar to the issue of illegal immigration in the United States. Just as liberals are calling the deportation policy in Norway racist, liberals in America are happy to allow illegal immigrants into the country because they are more likely to vote in favor of the Democratic party.
Would you like to see a program like Norway’s instated in the United States?
California newspaper office vandalized over use of illegal immigrant label
A California newspaper will continue to use the term “illegals” to describe people who enter the U.S. without permission, despite an attack on its building by vandals believed to object to the term.
The Santa Barbara News-Press’s front entrance was sprayed with the message “The border is illegal, not the people who cross it” in red paint, sometime either Wednesday night or early Thursday, according to the newspaper’s director of operations, Donald Katich. The attack came amid wider objections to a News-Press headline that used the word “illegals” alongside a story on California granting driver’s licenses to people in the country illegally.
“The vandalism and the damage speak for itself, as well as the motivation behind it,” Santa Barbara Police Officer Mitch Jan said. “At this point in time, I don’t really have any suspect information. Without cameras or an eyewitness, we really don’t know who would be responsible.”
In addition to the writing on the building, graffiti espousing a no-borders mentality was scribbled on the walkway through Storke Placita and the sidewalk near Santa Barbara City Hall. Police were braced for a protest in front of the paper later this week. Jan said hundreds could show up, and the Police Department is aware of the call for a protest.
DHS spending bill to ID sanctuary cities; Obama amnesty fight looms
The House GOP’s new homeland security spending bill released Friday would require the Obama administration to name-and-shame so-called sanctuary city jurisdictions that refuse to hold illegal immigrants for federal authorities to deport.
The get-tough bill boosts funding for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement by 10 percent, signaling the desire by the House GOP to pressure President Obama to step up, rather than cut, enforcement against illegal immigrants.
Still, the bill does not explicitly halt President Obama’s deportation amnesty. Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, California Republican, said lawmakers will have a chance to amend the bill to try to halt the amnesty next week, when the bill reaches the House floor.
“We will also consider a series of amendments which respond to the president’s executive action,” Mr. McCarthy said on the House floor.
The spending bill is designed to fund the Homeland Security Department for the rest of fiscal year 2015. The department is currently operating on a short-term bill that expires on Feb. 27.
Funding for airport security, the Coast Guard, cybersecurity, the Secret Service and a host of other operations is included, but most of the attention will go to immigration, because of the battle with Mr. Obama over his new policy to grant amnesty from deportation to 4 million more illegal immigrants.
California Taxpayers to SUBSIDIZE Auto Insurance for Illegal Aliens
Californians are the most charitable people on Earth. Government is making sure that illegal aliens, criminals that break our laws every day, have low cost auto insurance, issued by the State (the taxpayers). This is subsidized by your taxes, money meant for education will instead be used to assure law breakers get a break on insurance, when they get their phony drivers licenses, which will be used—you know they will—to allow the illegal aliens to vote—illegally.
This is why you should never vote for any tax increases or bond measures. If Sacramento has enough money to subsidize auto insurance for illegal aliens, it has enough money for roads and education. They are NOT immigrants—they are illegal aliens. Immigrants come here legally, with permission.
“State officials hope a new law that offers California driver’s licenses to immigrants in the country illegally will also encourage them to buy insurance.
To encourage the practice, the California Department of Insurance is aggressively marketing its Low Cost Auto Insurance program to the large pool of immigrants projected to seek licenses under the AB 60 law taking effect Jan. 1.”
Calif. to offer low-cost insurance to new immigrant drivers
by Josie Huang, KPCC, 12/31/14
State officials hope a new law that offers California driver’s licenses to immigrants in the country illegally will also encourage them to buy insurance.
To encourage the practice, the California Department of Insurance is aggressively marketing its Low Cost Auto Insurance program to the large pool of immigrants projected to seek licenses under the AB 60 law taking effect Jan. 1.
“It would be a tragedy if after all this effort, the 1.4 million people who are getting driver’s licenses for the first time don’t have auto insurance,” said Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones.
Jones and others recognized that the cost of getting licensed — $33 — is a lot cheaper than buying insurance for hundreds of dollars a year. So, Jones, working with Senator Ricardo Lara, D-Bell Gardens, got the state Legislature to open up the low-cost insurance program to the new category of immigrant drivers.
“The price will be less than $450 a year, which is less than $38 a month,” Jones said. He said that’s about a third of what it costs to get private auto insurance in many markets across California.
Jones said more than 90 percent of AB 60 applicants are expected to be Spanish speakers. So the state’s been pushing its low-cost insurance through Spanish-language media and ads like this:
Los Angeles-based insurance broker Susan Rocha said the state program likely offers the lowest prices for low-income immigrant drivers, especially since they have no official driving record.
“Any place else it’s going to be much more, because they are considered a new driver,” Rocha said.
But Rocha cautioned that the state’s low-cost program is very basic, and those who can afford more might want to join a private plan with beefier coverage. If they can jump on a relative’s plan, they may be able to enjoy loyalty discounts, Rocha said.
For years, California law has allowed immigrants in the country illegally to buy insurance even without a license. But day laborer Alfredo Vidal said he just didn’t see the point.
“Why?” said Vidal, who borrows his friend’s pick-up truck for construction gigs around L.A. “I don’t have a driver’s license.”
But going without insurance can lead to hundreds of dollars in fines, not to mention losing one’s driver’s license, and car registration. In a crash, a driver might not be able to afford thousands of dollars in repairs. Some drivers might be apt to leave the scene. And this could raise insurance costs for everybody.
Vidal was willing to accept the risks.
“I have to take people with materials to the houses,” Vidal said. “I have to be driving all the time.”
Immigrant advocates have largely avoided handing out insurance advice. Ana Garcia gives workshops on the new law for the Central American Resource Center, and said her priority is helping immigrants get their license.
“We only went over insurance when they take the driving test,” Garcia said. “I let them know that whatever car they need to use for the driving test needs to be insured.”
For his driver’s test, Vidal said he’ll borrow his friend’s car, which is already insured. If he passes and gets his license, Vidal says he’ll take all the proper next steps.
“We’re going to get insurance – everybody,” Vidal said. “We know it’s the law.”

Opposition To CA Driver’s Licenses for Illegals AB 60
Claremont, CA 1/6/15
Displaying The Remembrance Project Stolen Lives Quilt banners http://www.theremembranceproject.org/ in front of the Claremont City Hall. 5 of the victims featured on the banners above were killed by illegal alien drivers: Buddy Rowe, 4, Josslyn Dinoso Brooks, 2, Dominic Durden,30, Drew Rosenberg, 25, Eric Haydu Zepeda, 22. AB 60 was officially launched in California on 1/1/15.
On Monday, 1/5/15, after viewing the television news coverage of the 1/2/15 Senator Ricardo Lara Long Beach protest of AB 60, Feature TV, Los Angeles, a global network, contacted We The People Rising Executive Director/CA The Remembrance Project Director Robin Hvidston to schedule an interview. An appointment for an interview was set up at 2pm, the next day, 1/6/15 in front of the Claremont City Hall. Robin Hvidston generated one email invitation to the activist list the evening before at 5pm on 1/5/15. Media outlets were not notified.
When opponents of AB 60 arrived the next day at the city hall at 1:30pm, there were 5 police officers posted and barricades surrounded the city hall. There was a counter protest, of less than a dozen AB 60 supporters.
Apparently, a telephone call on Monday afternoon to the police department generated the response.
Only an interview with Feature TV had been scheduled; however, the counter protesters as well as other media outlets were at the city hall that included the Claremont Courier, Fontana Herald News, and independent news groups.
At the end of the rally an Orange County female agitator, arriving late, pestered and videotaped 5 activists who were packing up vehicles in preparation to leave.
Police barricades surrounded the front of the city hall.
Above a counter protest was staged.

CA Illegal Immigrant at DMV: Nobody’s Passing Written Test
by Tony Lee 3 Jan 2015 563
Many illegal immigrants at a Northern California DMV reportedly were failing the written exam when applying for driver’s licenses on Friday.
Under the AB 60 law that Governor Jerry Brown (D) signed in 2013 and took effect at the start of 2015, illegal immigrants were able to apply for driver’s licenses on Friday. And nearly 1.4 illegal immigrants are expected to apply for licenses in California in the next three years.
At a DMV in south Sacramento, Veronica Oropeza, a 28-year-old illegal immigrant who has reportedly been driving without a license for six years, reportedly failed her written exam twice.
“Nobody’s passing,” she told the Sacramento Bee in Spanish.
As the Bee noted, “those who passed the written exam were given a driver’s permit and required to return another day to take the road test.”
When Nevada allowed illegal immigrants to apply for licenses last year, 71% of illegal immigrants in the state reportedly failed the written exam in the first three days. Wanting to avoid what happened in Nevada, immigrant groups like the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA) had provided free test prep classes to illegal immigrants in the final months of 2014.
Oropeza had “already spent more than three hours at the DMV,” and “she couldn’t stay to take the exam a third time, she said, because she had to get to work.”

Obama Will Shut Border Agency To Aid Illegals
President Barack Obama will block 2015 funding for the Department of Homeland Security if Republicans includes spending curbs on the president’s executive amnesty, says a top aide. That amnesty action includes the award of work permits, drivers’ licenses, Social Security cards and tax rebates to at least four million illegal immigrants, despite the wage-cutting surplus of American workers in Obama’s economy. The adviser, Dan Pfeiffer, told a Huffington Post interviewer Dec. 29 that the president would “absolutely not” sign a 2015 spending bill that would include limits on amnesty spending.
Would Obama veto the spending curbs? “Yep,” Pfeiffer said.
But Pfeiffer’s veto threat is likely superfluous, because the GOP’s top congressional leaders have gone silent on their early-December promises to curb the amnesty spending after February.
